A Theory of Change is an important step in identifying the cumulative impact of Global Citizenship Education in Ireland. IDEA has recruited a consultancy firm ( Organisational Development Support - ODS ) to facilitate the development of a Theory of Change for GCE in Ireland. This builds on work already carried out on impact measurement of DE/GCE in Ireland by IDEA and our members. 

A Theory of Change is essentially a comprehensive description and illustration of  how and why a desired change is expected to happen in a particular context . 

ODS staff will work with IDEA staff and members throughout this process. An important element is the convening of a task group of IDEA members to support the development of the Theory of Change. This task group will work between October-November on the drafting of the Theory of Change for GCE in Ireland. 

Ahead of the establishment of the task group, ODS will run an introductory session which is open to all IDEA members. This open information session will share details on the process of development a Theory of Change for GCE. This session is relevant to all IDEA members, and in particular should serve to inform those potentially interested in joining the task group what is involved. 

This introductory session takes place on Tuesday 24 September from 2.30-3.30pm. The session will 1) present the process to interested IDEA members 2) present the role of the Task Group and what is expected of those joining the Task Group 3) give a short intro to Theories of Change and what they are. 

 
The session will be led by Anna Cesari and Lisa-Marie Salley-Kerhascoet of Organisational Development Support - ODS .
