Anya Sparynska

Anya is IDEA’s former Pioneering Program Officer (2022–2024) and Capacity Development and Events Manager (2024–2025). She worked closely with IDEA members, developing the organisation's DE knowledge & skills and innovation activities (including the 2025 Annual Conference) and coordinating the design of IDEA's Theory of Impact for Global Citizenship Education. Anya is passionate about driving change at the intersection of human rights, sustainability, and global justice. With experience in the public and NGO sectors, she is particularly interested in addressing complex global challenges through inclusive and participatory approaches, working with communities and grassroots movements. She holds an LL.M in International Humanitarian Law, Peace Operations, and Conflict Resolution from the Irish Centre for Human Rights at the University of Galway, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Environment, Sustainability, and Climate from University College Cork. She has been a volunteer and trained facilitator with Service Civil International, Belgium (SCI) and is grateful for the opportunity to stay engaged with IDEA's member transformative work through the IDEA Code community.
